A UNLV student’s story about his interesting interaction with Joe Biden at the Cox Pavilion.
Update: The student in this audio is Matt Maxson, the opinion editor of the student newspaper, the Rebel Yell. In the audio, Maxon said he was “so enamored” of Joe Biden’s performance in the debate that went up to get the candidate’s autograph and then asked if Biden “wouldn’t mind being my grandpaw.”
A coffee book quote came from Barack Obama when he was asked, is the increase of U.S. troops in Iraq working?
Obama replied….
“Horrific violence to intolerable violence doesn’t justify the Iraq war.”
Another coffee book quote came from a UNLV political science student asking about uniting the country through a period of transition with a new president.
Obama replied….
“Were gonna lead by talking to our enemies and not just our friends.”
I’m sorry, I meant to say that I was talking about empty seats in the debate viewing room at the UNLV Student union.I never knew a “yes” or “no” question was so difficult.
This debate is more cut-throat than Survivor. Awesome. There are still open seats here, so if anyone has a press pass you
might want to whip it out and see if it works.
This chant was one of the many clever chants that Barack Obama campaign supporters stood chanting on the side of the road as cars drove by honking in response to the “Honk For Hillary” sign.
As I drove to school today, I couldn’t help but pull my car over and take advantage of the photo opportunity.
Hillary and Obama had supporters from every generation.
There were elderly people chanting for Obama and young adults chanting for Hillary.
I even asked some Hillary supporters if they were UNLV students because they looked age appropriate, but they weren’t.
Obama supporters wearing bright red shirts overpowered the Clinton supporters in both the size and chanting.
Individuals with speaker phones ran up and down the street chanting “Obama’s gonna bring the White House back.”
I over heard one Obama supporter telling another supporter that she began campaigning at 6 a.m., when CNN began coverage.
Well let’s hope she still has a voice by the end of the actual debate.
These chili pepper people are here to draw attention for the Richardson team. Other team members said that the chili pepper costumes are mainly meant to as an attention getter but also represent Richardson’s Hispanic heritage. There were only two costumes, but an entire group with signs and T-shirts. Mobile post sent by jessat69 using Utterz. Replies.
It is harder to get into the watch party on campus then to get into some clubs in Vegas.
The watch party attendees were chosen from the remainder of the UNLV lottery after the people were drawn to attend the debate. There are approximately 400 spots in the watch parties. But there is one other way to get in.
“If you really want to be part of an event, volunteering is a good way to do it.” said Ellen Bolt, one of the doorpeople at the Watch Party.
The volunteers signed up after receiving an email through the Rebelmail network. They will get to rotate in to see at least part of the watch party.
